With its newest model Ebusco 3.0, Ebusco, a Dutch manufacturer of electric buses, has developed a bus that DB Regio Bus will use in regional bus traffic.

The Dutch manufacturer showed his newest electric bus at the beginning of February, at ElekBu 2020 in Berlin. This electric bus is made of composite and carbon materials, which results in a considerable weight saving.

Apart from the fact that Ebusco has previously entered into a partnership with Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG), it will be partnering also with Deutsche Bahn Regio Bus. In this partnership, the Ebusco 3.0 will be tested in regional transport. Peter Bijvelds, CEO of Ebusco, explained that this bus will have a distance of more than 300 kilometers and that even 400 kilometers will be possible.

A Deutsche Bahn spokeswoman confirmed the cooperation with the Dutch producer to Roter Renner. “The aim of the collaboration is the development of electric buses for regional bus traffic and the testing of these buses under different conditions.

The two partners want to strongly promote the development of electric buses and thereby gain important insights for long-range use. “These electric buses could cover this high range without having to charge up in the meantime”.
