EBUSCO has just signed a contract for the supply of 2 Full-Electric city buses in Stavanger Norway to Boreal transport. The delivery will take place in early November this year. More than a year Boreal has examined in detail what would be the most appropriate electric bus for Stavanger city transport and the choice is ultimately fallen on the in Helmond the Netherlands based company EBUSCO.
EBUSCO will deliver the latest model. This model will have its world premiere at the IAA in Hannover Germany, later this year. The latest model is full of new technological innovations and developments in the field of weight reduction (complete aluminium body), energy density of the cells, battery management system (BMS) and further energy saving measures for an even lower power consumption and longer range.
The purpose of Boreal transport is to test the range and operational stability of electric buses on fixed routes, says CEO of Boreal transport Kjetil Førsvoll. EBUSCO has already shown over the past winter months in Helsinki Finland that they can drive the daily normal lines without problems up to temperatures of-22 degrees Celsius. Boreal wants to show in the coming period that the electric buses operate well “in the regular service”, in order to convert the complete fleet to all-electric (zero emission). The 2 buses are a collaborative project organized by Boreal transport and the Norwegian Government. Technical data of the new electric buses: Length: 12 metres, Passenger capacity: 84 persons, Chairs: 35, Battery capacity: 242 kWh, Range with fully charged battery: > 250 km.
