Mid 2018 the Belgian bus company Multiobus launched two fully electric 12m Ebusco buses with a range of 300 km, enough to carry 90 passengers all day. With this, the innovative and environmentally conscious bus company Multiobus had a scoop; it is the first to have Zero Emission buses on the Belgian roads. Nowhere else in Belgium standard buses with a capacity of 90 people have been replaced by equivalent electric vehicles.
Mid 2021 10 new Ebusco 2.2 buses will follow. Multiobus, De Lijn’s subcontractor is keen to show that now is absolutely the right time for Zero Emission buses (buses without harmful emissions). It is expected -including the two buses that are already driving around – to reduce CO2 by 1000 tonnes per year.
