Ebusco has received a 130 million Euro order from Transdev Netherlands to supply 156 electric buses on its home market. These will be deployed in the Amsterdam & Haarlem areas from November 2020.
The new electric bus fleet will start operating under the Transdev Netherlands Connexxion brand and will operate in the Amsterdam region, around Schiphol Airport and in Haarlem and surroundings. The Ebusco models will replace the conventional diesel and gas buses previously used there.
Operator Connexxion (part of Transdev) will replace 45 gas buses in Haarlem-IJmond (NL) in the autumn of 2020 against 100% electric buses from the Dutch company Ebusco. With this, Transdev is making an important contribution to the climate objectives. The Provence of Noord-Holland, Transdev and Ebusco proof that this step can already be taken now, without compromising passenger comfort or safety.
How can these new buses be recognised?
The new electric buses are easily recognisable by their fresh, contemporary look and the absence of traditional exterior mirrors. 29 Buses run in the typical white-green Connexxion look & feel and 16 buses run in the recognisable red-grey R-net design. The Ebusco buses are used on the R-net lines 382 and 385. The rest runs on other city and regional lines within the Haarlem-IJmond region.
Charging e-buses
The Ebusco electric buses are charged mainly at night at Connexxion’s bus depot in Haarlem.
The next stop is Amsterdam
At the beginning of 2021 another 111 Ebusco buses for Connexxion will enter the roads. These are all R-net buses and will operate in the AML2 concession. A total of 156 electric Ebusco buses will then have entered the Netherlands, which is currently the largest influx of electric buses in one go.
